Dan Sponder, one of the team members, had the life-changing news that his father was diagnosed with Myeloma – a terminal strain of cancer in May 2013. Tough Mudder is on May 3rd – exactly 2 years to the day that Dan’s Father was diagnosed.
Paul Gibson says "Each of us has our own personal reasons for getting involved, with many of us having to care or support loved ones through this life ruining disease. Everyone’s story is different. However, there’s always one common trait – Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan truly is more than just a support charity. As well as helping with medical needs, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have. They then support and work with their patients to ensure no matter how difficult their battle might be – it’s fought with pride, honour and dignity.
It’s not going to be easy – after all, it is called tough mudder – but it will be rewarding; we’re not just raising money, we’re raising awareness, offering support and challenging this dreadful disease."
