Charities riding high from Team GB’s success

Following the success of Team GB’s cycling achievements in last year’s Olympics, Mayfair Office members, Bell Ingram has decided to put its charity donations to three very different cycling events this year.

Firstly, the Corrieyairack Challenge, Scotland’s toughest mountain duathlon where entrants follow in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie over Scotland’s highest mountain road. Organised by Speyside Trust Badaguish Outdoor Centre, entrants will take to the mountainous Corrieyairack Pass which lies between Fort Augustus and Laggan in the Scottish Highlands to raise funds for the Trust which provides special services to people with disabilities.

Spinning the wheels second is Fiona MacKintosh and her daughter, Gillian, who are cycling across Cuba for Women V Cancer Cycle Challenges in memory of those friends and family they have lost to the disease. They are raising money for three British charities – Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

And finally Bell Ingram will be lead sponsor of the Oban Cycle Sportive which is dedicated to Chris Bell, a member of the organising committee who sadly lost his life at the age of 24 in an avalanche at Glencoe earlier this year. There will be two routes in the challenge for varying levels of fitness and the money raised will be used by the Oban Rotary Club to support local charities.

Bell Ingram and our staff members take great pleasure in participating in charitable fundraising activities and getting involved in the community spirit which these events promote so well.

Through these three events we also hope to support the cycling culture as a means of promoting ways we can reduce our impact on the environment as well as the positive health benefits derived from cycling.
