Full Description
Justices Farmhouse is traditionally constructed with a timber frame with plastered elevations under a peg tiled roof and is believed to date back to the 16th century. The property was renovated by the previous owners in recent years to provide a stylish family home of great quality with a mixture of oak and limestone flooring. There are two hallways, a fine staircase leading to the first floor, most of the reception rooms have some exposed timbers and open fireplaces with wood burners. The excellent kitchen/breakfast room has a two oven Aga and integrated appliances and the generous sized utility room houses the oil fired boiler. On the first floor, there are five bedrooms served by three bath shower rooms. Outside, there is a semi-circular driveway with a parking and turning area which leads to a double garage. At the back there is a well established garden with a terrace, lawns and shrubs and a large pond, with decking and a summer house and which probably originally formed part of a moat. Beside, there is a small post and rail paddock with access to the lane. The grounds extend to about 1.1 acres.
The property is set amongst open countryside about one mile from the village of Finchingfield, which is considered one of the most attractive villages in North West Essex.Directions
From Great Dunmow proceed out of the town heading towards Thaxted on the B184 and take a right hand turn signposted to Bardfield and Finchingfield. Proceed along this road, and the entrance to the house is on the left hand side about 200m beyond the turn to Waltham Cross. You will see a gateway with a grey metal gate, proceed down the lane for about 600m and the house is on the left.
