Sussex
Administratively Sussex is divided into two counties, East and West. But it still continues its historical and traditional unity. Each half shares part of the counties characteristic landscape: a coastal strip, a stretch of South Downs and some Wealden forest.
Both East and West Sussex have their keen followers. Brighton and the coastal towns have always been popular but those seeking village life consider Alfriston, West Dean and Wilmington near Eastbourne, and Amberley and Burpham, near Arundel. The area within a ten-mile radius of Haywards Heath is particularly popular.
