Away from its cities – Manchester and Liverpool - and industrialised towns such as Bolton, Blackburn and Burnley, Lancashire has a distinctive rural side. Much of this countryside is moorland including the eastern Pennine fells and the beautiful Forest of Bowland.
In the north east the Lune Valley, stretching from the coast, through Lancaster and on past Kirkby Lonsdale, is very popular. Further to the west, in Duchy of Lancaster territory, buyers are particularly fond of Slaidburn, Waddington and the villages around Clitheroe.
