Devon
This county is a sailors' paradise. No one in Devon lives more than 25 miles from the sea – whichever coast they choose. Both coasts have their loyal fans but for those who prefer inland Devon there is Dartmoor.
In the south the South Hams are very popular. This area of delightful villages is a magnet for second home-buyers, with Salcombe often featuring in ‘most expensive’ housing surveys. The north coast and Dartmoor prices are now catching up as the roads have improved so much. Favoured villages include Widecombe in the Moor, Sampford Courtenay and Cheriton Fitzpaine.
