Cheshire
Cheshire is another county of two worlds. Rural Cheshire is noted for its large estates and has more historic houses and gardens than any other county. Chester, the ancient county town, has largely kept its architectural integrity and major employers such as Shell and ICI have helped attract buyers to the area.
In the north of the county, towns like Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Bramhall and Wilmslow have become extremely popular, drawing wealth from Manchester. House prices here are amongst the highest in the UK including the South East.
