With a population of just 90,000 Jersey is both a breathtakingly beautiful island and a leading finance centre. The busy principal town, St Helier, offers excellent shopping and award winning restaurants. For residents, Jersey offers a high standard of living in a safe, low crime environment. St Malo on the French coast is only an hour away by car ferry. There are numerous daily flights to the UK and regular direct links to Paris and Geneva, as well as a 4-hour car ferry to Poole and Weymouth.
Wealthy incoming residents are expected to pay in the region of £100,000 in income tax to the island’s economy every year for a 10-year period. It is advisable to consult with a locally based tax expert before application for residency.
Jersey operates a different income tax system to the UK mainland.
