Nick Churton

chairman & managing director

Nick Churton’s working life began in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire for the splendidly named Hetherington Swannell and Secret. This was followed by a period at Stimpson Lock and Vince in St. Albans, Herts.

After several years of provincial agency experience Nick Churton made the move to work in central London for Chestertons, certainly in those days the capital’s most up market estate agency. It was the early ‘seventies and London was suffering from the swinging sixties party hangover while labouring in the harsh grip of the three day week. But despite this drab backdrop London seemed alive with oil rich property buyers from the Middle East. The houses and flats that Chestertons handled was exceptional and clients and purchasers often even more so.

After working for several years at Chestertons Nick became a partner of John H. James & Company, a thirty-six-office firm in central Hertfordshire. The firm was later sold to insurance company, General Accident. Nick was asked to set up a London office for the new UK-wide 580 branch network and play a key role in running the group’s exclusive Town & Country brand.

This was a challenging and rewarding position but three years later a most intriguing opportunity presented itself. Nick was chosen from hundreds of estate agent and publishing professionals to head Country Life magazine’s property advertising team. Working at Country Life – surely one of the UK’s great institutions - was a great experience, but by the mid-nineties it was time to embark on his most exciting and personally rewarding career move.

In 1995 Nick Churton founded Mayfair Office to provide national and international property marketing expertise to some of the finest local and regional independent estate agents in the UK. This led to the formation of Mayfair International Realty in 2004. Today Nick helps and advises property professionals on international property marketing across the globe.

Nick Churton is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (MNAEA), a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), a member of the National Association of Realtors (US), and is a member of FIABCI – the International Real Estate Federation.
