Michelmore Hughes is based in a prime town centre location in Totnes in the heart of the South Hams, Devon. This long established and highly respected firm of chartered surveyors has an experienced agricultural division that acts for a wide range of private individuals, institutions, family companies and trusts and covers the whole of the South West of England.
Land and estate management is the backbone of the firm's Totnes office and requires a thorough understanding of many important issues that affect the ownership and occupation of land. Functions carried out include day to day management of farms and estates, rent collection, renovations and maintenance work, advice on redundant buildings and development land, compensation claims, advice on milk quota and grass keep. Michelmore Hughes also represents smaller landlords on the Dartmoor Commoners Council and advise on Countryside Stewardship schemes, and undertakes work in connection with the 1986 Agricultural Holdings Act and the 1995 Agricultural Tenancies Act and, of course Farm Business Tenancies.
