Scotland

Scotland Scotland can be neatly but unsubstantially divided into three areas – the Lowlands, the central belt and the Highlands. The central strip stretching between Edinburgh in the east and Glasgow in the west is the industrial and commercial engine of Scotland. On either side are the Lowlands to the south and the Highlands to the north.

This wonderful land of extraordinarily beautiful and haunting scenery, great estates, handsome cities and comfortable towns operates on a different legal system to England and Wales. Property transfer is not handled in the same way as the rest of the UK nor to a large extent is estate agency. where much property is handled by solicitors.

For those people buying in Scotland the solicitors’ property centres in the central belt, which work on a multi-listing system, are good for house hunters, whilst estate agents in the Highlands and Lowlands provide an excellent service for those looking for sporting estates and character holiday and weekend homes.
