Kent Winston Churchill loved Kent. Looking at his view from Chartwell it is easy to see why. The Garden of England tag remains apt, despite all the changes in agriculture. Excellent schools are a big draw for families, and the west of the county is particularly good for commuters into the City.

Education and rail links make Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks very popular. The north of the county too has perked up because of the Channel tunnel. The Weald of Kent with its distinctive oasthouses is particularly popular and buyers favour villages such as Cranbrook and Tenterden.
