Hertfordshire
Forward thinking but with charming glimpses of its rural past, Hertfordshire was
the birthplace of the Garden City movement in the early part of the 20th century.
Today this small but highly populated county is a commuter favourite.
Excellent communications provide migration routes for those moving out from Greater
London. The A10 and A1 to the east lead to Hertford, Welwyn, Hitchin and the north-eastern
Hertfordshire villages. The A5 leads to historic St. Albans. The M1 and A41 lead
to Watford, Berkhamsted and the highly popular Chiltern villages.
